Interprofessional Certificates of Distinction FAQ's


Q:  What are the Interprofessional Education Certificate Programs?

The Certificate of Distinctions are longitudinal interprofessional programs in particular areas of interest.

Q: How do I apply for the Certificate Programs?

For the upcoming 2016-2017 academic year, we are not accepting applications as the Certificates of Distinction Program is on hold until further notice.

Q. How long do I have to complete the Certificate Program?

Certificate Programs are designed as 2-year programs.

Q. What if I don’t complete all the Certificate requirements within the 2-years?

You will need to seek approval from the Program Manager to extend your deadline for completion.

Q: What do I need to complete to receive an Interprofessional Certificate?

In order to receive a Certificate of Distinction, students must complete an introductory module or activity, a specified number of elective learning activities (recognized by the Centre for Interprofessional Education), a leadership/professionalism module or activity, and a team project.

Q. What if I miss one of the mandatory requirements for my certificate?

Please contact the Program Manager to determine your options.

Q: Do electives within the Certificate Programs count towards my IPE Program requirements?

Approved elective learning activities will count both towards your IPE Program requirements as well as the Certificate Program. For example, Health Mentor Program is a Green Learning Activity in the IPE Curriculum, and will also count as a credit for the Interprofessional Health, Arts & Humanities Certificate.

Q:  Do the electives I have completed previously count towards the Certificate Program?

Elective Learning Activities that you have previously taken will count towards the Certificate Programs.

Q:  Can I apply to more than one Certificate Program?
